If your AC keeps running while the house stays warm, tell us what you're noticing and we'll help you arrange a repair visit. Larsen Heating & Air is based in Saratoga Springs, and we provide AC repair here with a clear diagnosis and upfront pricing before work begins. Start with what's changed
You don't need to know which part has failed before calling. A useful description is often as simple as “air is coming out, but it isn't cold” or “the upstairs stopped cooling yesterday.” These symptoms help explain the problem, but they don't diagnose a specific part.
Running without enough cooling
Notice whether the thermostat is set to cooling and whether the room temperature is moving toward the setting. Warm air can have several causes, including airflow, thermostat, or refrigerant problems. It doesn't automatically mean the compressor needs replacing. Tell us whether the change was sudden or has been getting worse.
Weak airflow or rooms that feel different
Let us know whether airflow is weak throughout the house or only at certain vents. Look for furniture covering accessible supply or return grilles, and note when the filter was last changed. You can share those observations without removing equipment panels or reaching inside the system.
Water or ice around the equipment
Mention where you see water and whether there's visible ice on accessible refrigerant lines. Water and ice need investigation; neither proves a refrigerant leak. If you see ice, turn cooling off at the thermostat and arrange service. Don't chip it away, add heat to the coil, or attempt a refrigerant recharge.
If water is near electrical equipment, keep clear. Turn the system off at the thermostat only if you can reach it safely. Smoke or an active fire calls for leaving the home and calling 911.
A diagnosis before a repair decision
We'll diagnose the problem and explain the proposed repair before asking you to approve it. You'll get the price before repair work starts, so you can ask questions about the recommendation and decide how to proceed.
Bring up previous repairs, recurring symptoms, or another company's diagnosis during the visit. A written recommendation can be especially helpful if you're seeking a second opinion. Ask what the repair addresses and whether anything else affects the system's ability to cool the home.
We also provide AC repair throughout Utah County.
Compare repair and replacement on the actual findings
A repair decision should account for what's wrong, the equipment's condition, and the cost of the proposed work. If replacement is worth considering, we'll discuss it without pressure. You can compare the repair recommendation with AC installation and replacement before choosing.
Share what matters to you: keeping the existing system running, addressing recurring breakdowns, or planning a larger upgrade. Age alone doesn't determine whether replacement is the better option.
Arrange the visit
When you contact us, include your Saratoga Springs address, the symptoms, and when they started. Mention if you've turned cooling off because of ice or another concern. Same-day appointments are available when the schedule allows; call to confirm the next opening. An appointment doesn't guarantee that every repair can be completed that day.

AC repair questions
Can you tell me the repair cost over the phone?
Describe the symptoms when you call, but the repair recommendation depends on a diagnosis. We'll provide upfront pricing before repair work begins. Ask about any appointment charges when scheduling.
Does a frozen AC just need to thaw?
Thawing doesn't identify what caused the ice. Keep cooling off and arrange a diagnosis. Restricted airflow and refrigerant problems are among the possible causes; leave internal checks and refrigerant work to a technician.
Should I book maintenance if the AC isn't cooling?
Tell us it's a cooling failure when you schedule, even if a tune-up is also due. That makes the immediate problem clear. Routine maintenance and diagnosing a current breakdown serve different purposes.
Will the repair be finished during the appointment?
That depends on the diagnosis and the work needed. Ask about expected completion when we explain the repair recommendation. Confirming an appointment time doesn't confirm a completion time.
